The Highlights of June

Greetings Church!

I hope you’re well today in this busy time of wrapping things up and looking ahead while also yearning for a summer rest. Your church leaders have been busy finalizing their annual reports, reflecting on the year, and dreaming and scheming for what’s to come. If you haven’t already, please mark your calendars for our Annual Meeting after service on Sunday, June 7th. You can read my annual Minister’s Report. The full report will make its way to your inbox very soon!

We’ve got another month of full, vibrant church life before things quiet down a bit for the summer. I’m looking forward to what’s ahead (and will be in the pulpit the full month of June) and hope to see you. This Sunday we have a southern Maine UU pulpit swap! Rev. Hillary Collins-Gilpatrick (she/her), the Minister at First Universalist of Yarmouth, will lead worship at A2U2 and I will lead the service over at First U. Rev. Hillary writes of her service, The Practice of Being Alive, that “it’s easy in this wild world to keep on moving forward, acting and reacting, without pausing to ever actually feel how our actions and reactions make us and those closest to us feel. So, this Sunday, we pause to just … feel.” Rev. Hillary is a grounded and thoughtful leader who I’ve worked closely with; I know you will enjoy her message!

Looking ahead to early June, here are a few highlights…

Mark your calendars, friends, and enjoy the sunshine and the rain in the days to come. All my best to you and yours.

In faith,

Rev. Tara
